In Memoriam

In Memory Of Those

Who Rode Before Us

A graying man of faded youth
face leathered by the sun
sits astride his ancient iron
And dreams of one last run

Having seen so many things
That most men never see
doing things that most men do
only in their fantasy

A man without a family
yet brothers everywhere
who makes his bed on Gods green earth
and sleeps without a care

A soldier of the highway
a prisoner of the road
a man whose lived more stories
than most men have ever told

Who knows his run is over
and he will ride no more
he slips his trike back into gear
and rides for Heavens door
