OKIE TWISTERS
was formally chartered by the national organization Brothers
of the Third Wheel in January, 2005. Our founding officers
were Rick Valentine [Director], John Reddy [Vice Director], and
Al Hutchinson [Treasurer]. Our group, however, has a much longer
history. We began as an informal group with Oklahoma members
living anywhere from Interstate 35 west to the Oklahoma state
line. We began hosting the Run to Turner Falls in
1992. Okie Twisters is a group of individuals who enjoy riding
and building three wheeled Motorcycles; affectionately known as
“Trikes.” We have come together as a group to promote the use of
Trikes through community involvement and in a family atmosphere.
BROTHERS OF THE THIRD WHEEL was founded in 1983 by Jim
Sickler. Its purpose is to unite trikers from around the world,
and help provide them with the information they need concerning trikes and triking. BTW is
an association, or organization, not a club. Membership is open
to anyone interested in triking. There are no mandatory meetings
or events, and it is not necessary to own a trike. Many of our
members first join because they are interested in finding out
more about trikes, and realize we are the best source of
information. If you would like more information, contact BTW on
their web site (www.btw-trikers.org)
